Described as ‘a collection of like-minded musicians’, the Buzz Aldrin Allstars are made up of musicians from various Dublin-based groups, including Si Schroeder, 3epkano, Halfset, Strands, United Bible Studies and Beautiful Unit. They will present their fifty-minute MOON project at the Arts Technology Research Lab (ATRL), Dublin, on Thursday, 26 April at 7pm.

The project — which is presented in the context of this performance as practice based research into the digital arts — has been led by group member Matthew Nolan, a PhD researcher and lecturer at Trinity College, Dublin, whose interests include film, music and psychoanalytic theory. The music in MOON, which is largely improvised, ‘revolves around simple melodies, grooves and loops.’

This event is part of a monthly series of ‘practical immersion in the digital arts’ at the ATRL. The centre, an interdisciplinary postgraduate research centre founded in 2009, is part of the School of Drama, Film and Music at Trinity College, Dublin.
