Callino Quartet and Sarah Beaty Tour

The Callino Quartet and clarinettist Sarah Beaty play four dates around Ireland in late-March.

The Callino Quartet and clarinettist Sarah Beaty will tour Ireland in late-March. Presented as part of the Church Classics series, the tour will call at Church of Ireland, Clifden, on 21 March, Holy Trinity Church in Westport on 22 March, Old St.Mary’s Church in Clonmel on 23 March, before finishing up in St.Mary’s Cathedral in Limerick on 24 March.

The programme for the tour includes Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major Op.64 No.5 ‘The Lark’, David Bruce’s recent composition Gumboots, and The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind by Olsvaldo Golijov, written for string quartet and klezmer clarinet. Golijov’s piece was originally written for Kronos Quartet, with whom the Callino Quartet participated in a workshop and Carnegie Hall performance in 2010.

The Tour is Funded by Arts Council Touring and supported by RTE Lyric FM.
