Concorde will perform a new piece by Raymond Deane alongside music by Deirdre McKay, Wolfgang Rihm and others on 1 July.

Concorde’s Up Close With Music series celebrates the ensemble’s thirty-fifth anniversary. For the fifth event, which as before is comprised of three thirty minute concerts spread across three hours of a single afternoon, Concorde will premiere Raymond Deane’s Mystery of a Street for clarinet, cello and accordion, at the Gallery of Photography in Meeting House Square in Dublin.

Also featuring will be music for similarly accordion-based chamber line-ups by James Wilson, Wolfgang Rihm, Jane O’Leary, Deirdre McKay and Ariel Hernandez. Works by Frank Lyons, Erkki Jokinen, Mark Tweedie and Matthew Dotson will also be performed.

Admission to the concerts is free, with the event beginning at 2.00pm, although advance booking is recommended; concorde [at] eircom.net.
