The Do-It-Yourself Method in Irish Music

The Do-It-Yourself Method in Irish Music

GradCAM at NCAD

Susan Gill, PhD student at Dublin Institute of Technology and research scholar at the NCAD’s Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media, is conducting research into the Do-It-Yourself ethic within Irish contemporary music. Whether by necessity or choice, many artists and music industry professionals conduct their work through an independent DIY approach, and Gill is inviting those who do to participate in a short survey on the topic, discussing their motivations and mode of working.

The survey is open to musicians, composers, bloggers, promoters, label owners and anyone involved in the music industry who operate within a DIY mode of production. The results will be published in Susan Gill’s PhD thesis on the topic.

The survey is available here.
