Dublin Early Years Music Pilot

Two ‘artists in residence’ are sought for the period February to May 2012. The residency will locate two experienced artists in two early years settings and give them the opportunity to work alongside children and childcare practitioners through music, over the eight to twelve week period.

Dublin arts development agency Common Ground, in partnership with Early Childhood Ireland, will develop and pilot an early years arts music programme in two early years community childcare settings, in Dublin 8 and the surrounding area in 2012.

Two ‘artists in residence’ are sought for the period February to May 2012. The residency will locate two experienced artists in two early years settings and give them the opportunity to work alongside children and childcare practitioners through music, over the eight to twelve week period.

A partnership approach will be adopted where artists will share their skills with the childcare staff. Children aged three to five years will be engaged on a weekly basis as part of the residency and the artist will work with this group for either an afternoon or morning block, one day a week.

Common Ground requests artists and musicians to forward a CV and covering letter to the the following address, by Friday, 28 October to express their interest in being considered for the residence opportunity:
