Kaleidoscope Celebrates Second Birthday

Kaleidoscope, a monthly night of classical and new music curated by violinist Cliodhna Ryan and cellist Kate Ellis, will celebrate its second birthday at the Button Factory in Dublin on 11 December, with music by David Fennessy and others.

"To A Child Dancing in the Wind. Karen Dervan on viola will join Sheridan on both pieces, with Ellis, Ryan and Anita Vedres also participating in the Brahms.

New Dublin Voices, recent recipients of all six available prizes at the biennial International Choir Contest of Flanders-Maasmechelen in Belgium, will perform music by Giovanni Palestrina, Thomas Morley and Claudio Monteverdi.

Finally, Ryan, Ellis and Vedres will be joined by John Lynch for a performance of Steve Reich’s Different Trains.

An ‘After Hours’ show will take place at 11.00 p.m. New Dublin Voices will perform some ‘contemporary classics’. Two Irish bands with American roots music influences, I Draw Slow and Prison Love, will also appear.
