Ergodos present an intimate evening with the two musicians at The Back Loft in Dublin on 17 May.

Tomorrow sees the next in a series of genre-blurring concerts presented by the Dublin production company Ergodos that started with Laura Moody earlier this month, and will continue with Linda Buckley next month. Singer-songwriter Laura Hyland and musician Seán MacErlaine will play in The Back Loft, an artists’ studio cum performance space in the Liberties in Dublin.

Hyland, who has gathered a fierce reputation as a performer who pushes the boundaries of her craft both solo and with her London-based group Clang Sayne, will be performing an entirely acoustic set. MacErlaine will be performing with reeds and electronics, using the hemispherical speakers designed by Dan Trueman and Trinity College and made famous by the Dublin Laptop Orchestra. These speakers mimic natural behaviour and spread of sound waves, allowing for a more ‘natural’ and physical performance of electronic music.

The event is part of the La Cat acoustic event festival held at The Back Loft. Tickets are available at the door and cost €10, and the concert begins at 8.30pm.
