Music Network is a professional live music organisation that provides a support network for professional musicians, often launching the careers of young Irish ensembles and solo artists with their sponsored tours and recording opportunities, and bringing a high standard of classical, jazz and traditional music to places across the country. Under the direction of Deirdre McCrea, the organisation grew significantly in the past nine years, leading to expanding programming, greater funds, and the establishment of the national music education company, Music Generation. Music Network is also responsible for the annual love:live music day.

Sharon Rollston has been acting CEO of Music Network since August 2011, will succeed Deirdre McCrea. Her experience in live music programming is broad, having formerly occupied the role of Performance Programmes Manager, responsible for tours, once-off and international performance programmes. She has also in the past been responsible for artist liaison and artist support within Music Network. Speaking of her appointment to the role, Rollston says that ‘as a priority, I will be developing a new strategic plan for the organisation in consultation with our many stakeholders which will inform our future direction. The artistic programming aspect of the role provides me with a greater opportunity to engage with our network of partners in bringing new and exciting music experiences to audiences across the country.’
