Music Recording Scheme

Music Recording Scheme

The Arts Council is accepting applications for its recording fund, designed to give support to performers and composers working in non-commercial genres to ensure the maximum dissemination of their work.

The Dublin Guitar Quartet

The Music Recording Scheme awards funding to successful applicants to record their work for the purposes of preservation and dissemination. It is open to both composers and performers who are working in non-commercial genres (excluding traditional music), and whose work may otherwise go unrecorded.

There is a total fund of €71,500 available, and awards of up to €10,000 will be made to successful applicants. Past recipients of the award include the Con Tempo Quartet, Daniel Jacobson, Isabelle O’Connell, Francesco Turrisi, Izumi Kimura, Ergodos and the Dublin Guitar Quartet. Applications require a full breakdown of expected costs, as well as examples of relevant work. Applicants and half of all artistic personnel involved in the recording must be born in, or resident in, Ireland.

The deadline for applications is Monday 17 September. Application forms can be downloaded here.
