The inaugral Northern Ireland Music Awards (NIMAs) will take place on 2 November, at the Ulster Hall in Belfast. The NIMAs are being organised by the Oh Yeah Music Centre and AU magazine, and will be hosted by Radio Ulster DJ David ‘Rigsy’ O’Reilly and Citybeat’s Emma Fitzpatrick.

The event will feature performances from established acts such as Stiff Little Fingers, as well as younger Northern Irish acts currently coming to prominence, including And So I Watch You From Afar (who will appear with Tony Wright), the Japanese Popstars, Cashier No. 9 and Two Door Cinema Club.

The awards are intended to celebrate the current vibrancy of the rock and popular music scene in Northern Ireland, and it has been suggested that they may become an annual event.

The NIMAs are being supported by Belfast City Council, Invest Northern Ireland and the Northern Irish Tourist Board.

Tickets are £12, and are available from the Ulster Hall.
