Rare Performance at the Abbey Theatre
3/Triúr, the group comprising Peadar Ó Riada, Martin Hayes and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, will give perform at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, on Sunday, 12 February.
The event is significant, not only because the Abbey Theatre is rarely used for musical performances, but because Ó Riada’s father, Seán, was Musicial Director of the theatre from 1955 to 1961. ‘I am really looking forward to sitting in the Abbey Theatre again from whence so many stories came into our home when I was a boy,’ says Peadar Ó Riada. ‘This is the space where my father, and his friends worked and created magic for so many. It is a touchstone to many events and people who had a major influence on my own thought process. ’ Tickets are €25.
