Composer Roger Doyle and Congolese guitarist Niwel Tsumbu will bring their four-concert series at the Mermaid Arts Centre in County Wicklow to a close on 26 November.

The concert will feature both improvisation and specially composed works, with appearances from two special guests, composer and multi-instrumentalist Vyvienne Long, and Choice Music Prize winning singer and former member of the National Chamber Choir, Julie Feeney.

In other Doyle-related news, the RTÉ Lyric FM programme Nova, presented by Bernard Clarke, recently made the top five in the ‘Radio Music’ category of the prestigious Prix Europa for its special programme on Roger Doyle’s ongoing electroacoustic project Chalant, in which Doyle sets to music answering machine messages left by friends and family in the late 1980s.

The Nova special on Doyle also won the silver medal in the New Irish Music/Musical Talent Programme at the 2011 PPI Radio Awards in Kilkenny.

Tickets for the Mermaid Arts Centre concert are €14 and €16.
