The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA), Dublin, is making scores from its collection available online. Visitors to the ITMA’s website can now view and listen to sheet music using the Sibelius Scorch plugin. It is also possible to change the speed of the music, and to transpose it to a different key.

The first collection made available by the ITMA is Ryan’s Mammoth Collection, which was published in Boston in 1883. Commonly known as ‘Cole’s’ after its publisher, the collection contains more than a thousand tunes. The ITMA is adding 100 tunes at a time; in the versions uploaded, obvious mistakes in the original have been corrected.
