Vox Novus, an advocacy group for new music made up of a range of composers, musicians, and enthusiasts, has issued a call for works to composers and sound artists for the tenth performance season of its 60X60 project. 60X60 is a project that seeks to demonstrate the diversity and richness of contemporary composition, and which has been realised across various media and forms, from orchestral scores to albums to radio shows to dance, where sixty one minute (or shorter) works are performed or played in succession.
In this case 60X60 will involve the sequencing of sixty pre-recorded pieces by sixty different composers. Entrants are invited to submit recorded works which do not require live performers for their full realisation. Excerpts from longer pieces are not permitted, although remixes or recompositions are acceptable.
The call is open to composers of any nationality and age, and there is no admission fee. Multiple submissions are accepted, and all audio files must be in either FLAC, AIFF or WAV formats. Deadline for entry is 31 May. Submissions can be uploaded here.
