Whelan's to launch record label

The Long Live EP from The Raglans will be Whelan's Records inaugural release and will be launched on 25 May at the Dublin venue.

Whelan’s venue

The iconic Dublin venue Whelan’s has been a stalwart of the music scene since Gary Whelan and Ian Keith renovated the existing pub in 1989, restoring its stone and wooden charm. In 1999 it was bought by Frank Gleeson, and in his hands it has become an internationally renowned hub for the best of both Irish and visiting musicians. It is no surprise that the institution has taken the decision to bring its influence into the recording sphere, providing a new way of supporting Irish bands.

In setting up Whelan’s Records, they have teamed up with Management Promotion International (or MPI), a management company run by Martin Nolan that represents nearly one hundred Irish original bands, comedians and tribute acts. The first release on the label’s roster will be the Long Live EP by Raglans, which will be simultaneously released in the UK.

Tickets for the Raglans Long Live EP launch cost €8 and are available here.
