The Irish Times was at  the launch of the new Pipecraft Training Centre, which will run the first uilleann pipe making course in Ireland. Gay McKeon, CEO of Na Píobairí Uilleann, claims that there are about 6,000 uilleann pipers in the world, and about sixty uilleann pipe makes, most of whom are based outside of Ireland.
