Sage Gateshead, an international music centre situated on the banks of the River Tyne in England, is currently seeking an Artistic Planning Manager. This full-time, permanent position is based in Sage Gateshead, with a focus on classical music.

The Artistic Planning Manager will report to the Head of Artistic Planning and work for 36 hours per week. The role may require attending concerts and events during evenings and weekends, with Time off in Lieu arrangements agreed upon. The salary for this position ranges from SCP 25 (£24,835) to SCP 27 (£26,439) per annum.

The ideal candidate for the Artistic Planning Manager role is self-motivated, comfortable working in a team environment, and adaptable to change. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to handle a busy and complex workload under pressure. The role requires meticulousness and flexibility to address evolving circumstances. Proficiency in IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate should be able to work professionally with various stakeholders, both internally and externally, including partner organisations, visiting ensembles, artists, and their agents. Involvement in the delivery of live performances or projects is highly desirable. A UK driving licence is also required, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends is expected.

While not mandatory, familiarity with planning systems like OPAS, Artifax, and Tessitura is advantageous. Knowledge of chamber music and standard chamber orchestra repertoire is beneficial, as is experience working with professional orchestral musicians, international artist management companies, or artists. The ability to read music and understand orchestrations is an additional asset.
