Elgar's beautiful Sonata for Violin and Piano opens the concert before Poulenc's dazzling Clarinet Sonata brings the half to a close. There will be an eclectic mix of music in the second half, featuring the Three Romances by Clara Schumann and the groovy Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano by Khachaturian. Rarely performed gems of the Irish repertoire also feature; Rhoda Coghill's Gaelic Fantasy and William Wallace's L'Absence.
