Lead Upper Strings Tutor

Wednesday, 15 September 2021, 10.00am

The Royal Academy of Music is hiring a part-time Lead Upper Strings Tutor for the academy’s First String Experience (FSE) programme.

The Tutor will also be responsible for delivering and assisting with the development of a new initiative, Community First Strings Experience (CFSE), which will take the FSE programme into two London-based primary schools from September 2021 over a three-year period. The CFSE programme plans to work with 90 children in its first year, taking on a new cohort each September to 2023-24. By 2023-24, 270 children will be enrolled on CFSE, in addition to those learning at the Academy on Saturdays. CFSE will start at 0.5 day and grow to 2 days per week (Tuesday and one other day TBC).

The successful applicant will provide expertise in the area of violin/viola, integrated with musicianship teaching from the earliest stages of learning. Delivery of both programmes will be supported by an FSE or CFSE Fellow.
