TONGUE + HEART Performance Development Programme

TONGUE + HEART Performance Development Programme

Thursday, 22 September 2022, 9.30am

Outburst Arts is now inviting applications for a new performance development programme.

Starting in October 2022, TONGUE + HEART: The Outburst / Jerwood Queer Artists Programme will support up to four queer performance makers living in Northern Ireland to develop their practice through a 2022/23 15-month programme, designed by the participating artists in collaboration with Outburst’s creative team.

This might include finding the right queer mentors to support artists to take new creative risks, or sharing ideas and works in development with a trusted gang, or properly useful queer critique and specially tailored workshops to supercharge creative practice. The shape of it will be totally down to the vision and needs of the performance makers selected.

Each artist will receive a £4000 fee to participate in the programme, which will see them develop their work towards live presentation at Outburst Queer Arts Festival in November 2023, with additional support for production.

The programme is open to early to mid-career artists (minimum two years’ experience in live work) who are already working in live queer performance of any kind.

No deadline specified.
