Strings Administrator
The Royal Academy of Music is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and practical administrator to support the management of the Strings department. This role provides a professional administration and co-ordination service to support the Strings department, acting as the joint primary point of contact for staff, students, visitors and external enquiries.
This role is currently arranged as a job share and the role-holder will have particular responsibility for Double Bass administration, as well as the organisation of masterclasses, liaison with visiting artists and the more external facing elements of the Strings Administrator role.
You will need to be proactive with strong organisational and administrative skills in order to respond efficiently to the needs of the department, scheduling classes and events, ensuring the required people and resources are in the right place at the right time. You must be able to manage and prioritise a number of different responsibilities simultaneously and remain calm under pressure in a busy and demanding department.
IT literacy, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills with a flair for working effectively as part of a team with a wide range of people and personalities, together with a passion for music and the arts are essential. You will also need to demonstrate previous success in an administrative role and a background and interest in music, with associated musical knowledge.
