The KinShip Artist Placement Award 2022

Thursday, 14 April 2022, 5.00pm

Cork City Council in collaboration with artists LennonTaylor announce The KinShip Artist Placement Award 2022.

The KinShip Project is an ambitious public artwork now officially underway at a former landfill site south of Cork City. The aim of this year-long project is to develop a kin-like connection between Tramore Valley Park and its surrounding community, encouraging people to treat the park like an extension of their own family.

As part of the programme, Cork City Council in partnership with artists LennonTaylor (Marilyn Lennon and Seán Taylor) are inviting professional artists and creatives to apply for The KinShip Artist Placement Award 2022.

This new award aims to provide opportunities for artists to respond to climate-related concerns within the context of The KinShip Project. It supports activities that take place onsite at Tramore Valley Park and are participatory in nature. Proposals must respond to at least one of three themes for park/person encounter: the subterranean, the ground and the aerial.

Applicants can apply with a proposal for the following support:
– Access to a hot desk at Tramore Valley Park
– Curatorial support from Lennon Taylor
– Monetary award of up to €1500 which includes artists fee, materials, and expenses

A rolling schedule of deadlines will operate for this award, with deadline for the first round of applications on April 14.
