Horn Professor and Lecturer in Brass Studies

The Royal Academy of Music seeks to appoint a part-time Horn professor and lecturer in Brass studies. In addition to departmental duties (1:1 teaching, coaching, repertoire classes, sectionals etc) the post holder will contribute to wider programmes by delivering up to six Artist Development sessions for brass students per annum and from September 2023, offering up to two electives that will be targeted at brass students but open to all students. In addition, the post holder may contribute to the delivery of core modules within the BMus and taught programmes (e.g. leading a class on brass repertoire development within the Performing in Contexts Module).

You will have a recognised profile as an international performer with a thorough knowledge of a wide-range of repertoire and brass performing traditions. You will be able to advise, mentor and support students in managing their career aspirations and developing their professionalism, along with previous experience of teaching in a conservatoire environment. You will possess technical expertise, excellent communication, collaboration and organisation skills and flexibility.
