Rafeef Ziadah and Sorcha Fox

Rafeef Ziadah and Sorcha Fox

Friday, 20 September 2019, 8.00pm

Join us for an inspiring evening of words and music featuring some of poetry’s top voices for change, with Rafeef Ziadah, and Sorcha Fox. These two exciting artists are undertaking a week’s residency at the Hawk’s Well in September which will culminate in this very special performance on Culture Night.

Rafeef will perform 'Sendiana' a sequence of linked poems with live original music written first for PalFest: Arts Festival Supporting Palestine in Liberty Hall in 2017. It is a deeply moving, powerful, personal remembrance and challenge to occupation, exile and terror and what that does to an individual. It is also a beautiful testament to love and the human spirit and to Palestine.

Sorcha will perform pieces from “Remember” and both Rafeef and Sorcha will also perform new work on Culture Night, written during their Hawk’s Well residency together. Both pieces will be underscored with live original music from Dee Armstrong and Lughaidh Armstrong Mayock.
