NPR Music is looking for an Editorial Assistant to support initiatives for projects related to its hip-hop and R&B coverage.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing stories and content, and will work closely with an editor and video producer to ensure all deadlines and project goals are met. The Editorial Assistant will work with NPR Music’s editors, reporters and research teams to maintain high journalistic ethics and factual accuracy, and will also report and write stories for the web, radio, YouTube, social media and other platforms.

The position requires the ability to think creatively about building new audiences by crafting compelling stories around hip-hop and R&B music, and its intersection with national conversations, current events and American culture. The ideal candidate is someone who can work comfortably in the multimedia environment under daily deadlines. Strong spelling, grammar and writing skills are essential for this position.
