The Barbican Centre is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join the technical management team of the Music Department. In your role you will work closely with the Senior Technical Manager, alongside two other Technical Managers, to ensure that all music, art and business events and cinema screenings hosted in the concert hall, conference suits, cinemas and foyer areas receive consistent high-standard technical support.

As part of the management team, you will manage and motivate a multi-skilled technical team and deliver the technical aspirations of a diverse and dynamic music, recording, cinema and commercial programme.

You will have expertise in managing Health & Safety for performing arts; ideally already a holder of a NEBOSH general and NEBOSH fire certificate. You will bring an experience of managing stage and technical teams in a multi-disciplinary arts venue, major music venue or an events company.

You will thrive on ensuring high standards and consistency of operation and maintenance of theatrical systems and or stage/rigging automation. You will also be experienced in one or more of the following disciplines: lighting, sound, video or broadcast technology. A very good understanding of all aspects of technical delivery for an event are essential to fulfill your role.

You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, and a good track record of building strong relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues from other departments and external organizations.
