Fulbright Irish Awards
The Fulbright Commission invites applications from Irish citizens, and EU citizens residing in the Republic of Ireland for over 5 years, for the Fulbright Irish Awards to engage in research, study, or lecturing in the USA.
The available grants under this programme include:
Fulbright Irish Student Awards for postgraduate research or degree programs.
Fulbright Irish FLTA Awards for teaching the Irish language.
Fulbright Irish Scholar Awards for academic or professional research/lecturing.
Fulbright Irish TechImpact Awards for academic or professional research.
Fulbright Irish Schuman Awards for graduate & postgraduate study, research, or lecturing.
Moreover, non-Fulbright grants for undergraduate students are offered for travel to the USA under Summer Institutes for European Student Leaders.
The application process comprises four stages: pre-screen staff review for completeness, eligibility, and discipline areas; a review phase by a panel evaluating academic achievement and project statements; an interview stage assessing the project, academic achievement, and ‘Fulbright Fit’; and a final selection by the Commission Awards Committee with a principle and alternate candidates chosen based on recommendations, scores, and comments from the previous stages.
27 October at 4pm is the deadline for applications.
