The Arts Council and University College Dublin (UCD) are inviting applications for the Writer in Residence position for 2025.

This residency is open to mid-career and established writers in prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and children’s literature. The role involves two phases: from January to June 2025, the writer will engage with UCD students and staff through workshops and public events, with a maximum of 4 hours per week of contact time. From July 2025, the writer will focus on their own practice.

The residency offers a fee of €30,000 (€20,000 from the Arts Council and €10,000 from UCD), along with a dedicated workspace. Applicants must be resident in Ireland, have a strong publishing record, and have not held an Arts Council/university residency in 2024.

Applications must be submitted to Stacy Grouden at stacy.grouden [at] ucd.ie by 17:30 on 3 October 2024.
