Writer in Residence, University College Dublin
The Arts Council and University College Dublin (UCD) are inviting applications for the Writer in Residence position for 2025.
This residency is open to mid-career and established writers in prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and children’s literature. The role involves two phases: from January to June 2025, the writer will engage with UCD students and staff through workshops and public events, with a maximum of 4 hours per week of contact time. From July 2025, the writer will focus on their own practice.
The residency offers a fee of €30,000 (€20,000 from the Arts Council and €10,000 from UCD), along with a dedicated workspace. Applicants must be resident in Ireland, have a strong publishing record, and have not held an Arts Council/university residency in 2024.
