Liza Lim: Extinction Events and Dawn Chorus
Barry O'Halpin: Wingform

Wingform Solo Guitar: Barry O'Halpin
Conductor: Ryan McAdams

In 2022, Crash Ensemble celebrate their most significant birthday to date - the 25th! Drawing together noteworthy past works with present and future explorations of sound and environment; these concerts feature the group in all their glory, collaborating with some of the most influential global music makers of today.

For our 25th birthday, we perform two large ensemble works. Australian composer Liza Lim’s Extinction Events and Dawn Chorus explores themes of desire, memory, and the uncanny with ideas of beauty, ecological connection and ritual transformation; and Barry O’Halpin’s groundbreaking work Wingform takes advantage of Crash’s unique ability to cover a breadth of musical ground: winding melodies, mechanical rhythms, rapid lines and hypnotic drones.

Presented by Crash Ensemble and the National Concert Hall.
Supported by the Arts Council, Dublin City Council and RTÉ Supporting the Arts.
