
Mogwai
Mogwai, the Glasgow-based band formed in 1995, are scheduled to perform at Dublin’s Vicar Street in July 2024. The initial date of 27 July has been added to with an extra performance on 26 July, following increased demand. Tickets are available at €44.20 and will go on sale via www.ticketmaster.ie this Friday at 10am.
The band’s current line-up includes Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesiser, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar) and Martin Bulloch (drums). Since 1997, Mogwai have released ten studio albums. Their 2021 album, As The Love Continues, reached number 1 on the Official UK Album Charts, received a Mercury Prize nomination and was awarded the Scottish Album of the Year award.
Mogwai have also contributed to film and television scores, including projects for Amazon Prime and Apple TV+. A documentary, Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound, directed by Antony Crook and produced in collaboration with Blazing Griffin, Adler Entertainment, Rock Action Records and Screen Scotland, had its world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, in March 2024 and is currently screening at various international film festivals.
