Irish Women in Jazz presents Tapestry

Irish Women in Jazz presents Tapestry

Wednesday, 8 March 2023, 7.30pm

Tapestry are a 9 piece group of women performing an eclectic range of music from jazz to folk and, being from 8 different countries, create a sound that is uniquely theirs.

The group were put together for a one- off performance to celebrate the first curation of ‘Irish Women in Jazz’ live, back in October 2022. The gig was so well received, it was sold out and left the audience with a hunger for more.

Each of the women are professional singers, teachers or students, a combination that allows for a dynamic and powerful performance.

The group consists of Dublin singer and songwriter Jennifer McMahon, Romanian vocalist and cellist Aleka Potinga, Portuguese vocalist and composer Filipa Quintino, Japanese saxophonist and composer Yuzuha O Halloran, Galway vocalist Roisin Mulliez, Kildare based vocalist and songwriter Rufina Tishina, Hungarian vocalist Krisztina Bartha, Italian singer and songwriter Luisa Annibali, new to Ireland- Ukranian pianist and vocalist Ievgeniia Gryshyna.

Join Tapestry on March 8th to celebrate International Women’s Day and to launch the Irish Women in Jazz Residency at Arthur’s Jazz & Blues Club.

The performance will be preceded by a live podcast, hosted by Jennifer McMahon and Aleka Potinga, the current hosts of The Dublin Jazz Co-op Podcast and will be available at a later date to listen back to online.

See you there as we celebrate women on this special day.
