NYC band Fly Magic make music that is full of groove, beautiful intricacy, and boundless ideas.

Together for over 10 years, this New York quartet is led by German born saxophonist/composer/bandleader/scholar, Timo Vollbrecht.Passionate about electro-acoustic interplay, this genre-exploding unit draws from the lineages of jazz, post-rock, groove, new and experimental music. To date they have released three records ‘Fly Magic’ (2016), ‘Faces in Places’ (2018) and ‘Givers & Takers’ (2022) each receiving widespread praise from fans and press alike. Now firmly on that “must-see” list, Fly Magic manage to crack-the-seldom-cracked puzzle of ‘music for the purest’ versus ‘music for the curious’. Nobody leaves disappointed. This is a first visit to the UK and Ireland for Fly Magic, and we can’t wait to bring a slice of NYC to Belfast, as part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival.
