Friday, 28 April 2023, 5.30pm

Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland has announced a partnership with the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, Co Monaghan to offer a two-week residency for harp players and harper-composers residing in Ireland. The residency will take place in 2023 and will provide a haven of seclusion and quiet for creativity to flourish. The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, located near Newbliss in Co Monaghan, offers a range of facilities to harp players, including a composer’s room and a custom-designed performance studio with state-of-the-art facilities.

The partnership and bursary will enable harpers across Ireland to spend time at the centre, acknowledging the importance of the national symbol and its living heritage.

Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland aims to support harpers and nurture excellence and creativity at all levels. The residency will provide the time and space needed for a harper or harper-composer to focus on a harp-related project.

The residency is open to harpers and harper-composers, whether established or emerging in the Traditional Arts and/or Music sectors. The selection process will be based on a CV and letter of application that clearly outlines the rationale for spending time at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. Applications should be submitted to info [at] harpireland.ie with the subject line “The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Harp Residency” by 5:30 pm on Friday 28th April 2023.
