Howth Roots and Blues Festival is a free music festival in the fishing village of Howth on the outskirts of Dublin. The festival showcases the best in Irish roots and blues artists with some international artists also. While many of the artists are blues based the festival caters for fans of Country, Bluegrass, Americanna and reggae. Anything rootsy!!

This year we have 33 free gigs across 6 venues around the village and hill of Howth in a packed schedule. Headlining the festival is Dom Martin, who recently won in two categories at the UK Blues Awards. Also playing will be Dublin Blues Cartel (featuring Mik Pyro), Seafoam Green, Bajjna, The Lee Meehan Quintet, Square Pegs, The Mary Stokes Band, Rusty Jacks, Niall Toner Band, Dermot Byrne & Danny Tobin, Dublin City Rounders, Mules & Men, Parchman Farm, Rye River Band, Stone Cold Hobos, Ben Prevo, Johnny Daly Blues Party, Whistle, Voodoo Sunshine, Sean Miller, Colm Skwirbat, Dukedom, Mark Caplice, Backbone Blues Band, Delta Dogs, Slidin PK, Susan Tomelty, Chapel Hill Gang, The Sick & Indigent Song Club, Crazy Crow, Myle Hy Club and Frank Francone Band.

The venues include The Summit Inn, McNeills, The Bloody Stream, The Harbour Bar, Findlaters, The Waterside and O’Connells. Some of the venues have created outdoor spaces for summer gigs while others will create them for the festival. The Summit Inn will have the Tramline Stage, an outdoor performance space facing across a green area on top of Howth Hill. O’Connells will have the East Pier Stage, an outdoor performance space facing The East Pier. The Bloody Stream has the well known Phil Lynott Stage in their tented beer garden. The Harbour Bar has the Garden Stage, an intimate outdoor performance space in their covered beer garden.
