The orchestra of Opera North is seeking an experienced musician to become the next Leader of the Orchestra and help to drive the artistic future of the organisation.

Main purpose of job:
• To operate as the main point of liaison on artistic matters between the orchestra, the Music Director, orchestral management and guest conductors, taking responsibility for the musical quality of the orchestra.
• To support orchestral management in promoting and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and behaviour consistently across all sections and from all players.
• To provide proactive operational advice to orchestral management and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of business during rehearsals and performances.

Audition Info: The audition will consist of 2 rounds, the first of which will be screened. Those applicants invited to stay for the second round will be heard on the same day. More information about the audition process will be circulated to those shortlisted applicants. .

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
