RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra Live
The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra will return to live performance on Friday 11 September with RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra LIVE, a new series of 12 concerts live-streamed worldwide in HD on RTÉ Culture (www.rte.ie/culture) and broadcast live on RTÉ lyric fm on Fridays at 7pm. All concerts will be offered to the European Broadcasting Union for broadcasting across the European network.
The first three concerts will come from the stage of the National Concert Hall and will be presented by RTÉ lyric fm’s Paul Herriott. Plans for the remaining concerts in the series will be announced in the near future. They include three concerts in October with the orchestra’s Chief Conductor Jaime Martín who will make a welcome return to work with the orchestra.
For Culture Night on Friday 18 September, Gavin Maloney conducts works including Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with the orchestra’s former principal clarinet player John Finucane as soloist and Mendelssohn’s ‘Italian’ Symphony No. 4. See full programme below:
