Group class participants can look forward to an expert tutor leading their classes, as well as a supportive learning environment through peer to peer learning.

Possible class concerts will present fun and motivational challenges for you and your study colleagues.

Join like-minded adult learners today in exploring your passion for music performance, no matter what level or experience you have.

From September 2024 on, RIAM offers an additional level of AD Group Classes for some selected instruments, the new level being: “NOVICE”.

Who should participate in “NOVICE” level classes?
“NOVICE” level classes are for Adult learners who would like to learn an instrument, with no previous lessons or experience with the instrument.

Places for the “NOVICE” level are bookable with immediate effect (with a limited availability of places)

After completion of one Adult Division Group Classes term of 12 x 60 minutes of “NOVICE” level classes, continuing AD Group class participants will enter the next higher:
- Beginner level (intended for continuing learners with previously attended lessons up to Grade 3)

Following this initial progression, any further progression to higher levels, for new or continuing learners, is subject to teacher evaluation/approval.
- Intermediate level (intended for continuing learners with further developed skills from Grade 4 - 6)
- Advanced level (intended for continuing learners with advanced performance skills from Grade 7+)
What are AD Group Classes?
AD Group classes are designed to ensure that your learning outcomes are based upon your experience when you begin, and what you wish to achieve during your course of study.

There are no mandatory exams or assessments as part of the Adult Division group classes. However, exams or assessments can be planned together with your tutor and prepared for during each running term.
