Raise Our Voices with Tara Erraught

Raise Our Voices with Tara Erraught

Wednesday, 6 October 2021, 8.00pm

The singing voices of Ireland of every genre have been silenced for the past 18 months. Ireland’s singers of every generation are known the world over for their individuality, expressiveness and beauty of sound. It is time that these were heard again. Leading the way in giving voice back to our classical singers, the NCH has invited internationally acclaimed mezzo soprano, Tara Erraught to lead two special concerts.

In this first concert she presents six emerging singers
Suzanne Fennell, soprano
Gabrielle Dundon, soprano
Lorna Breen, soprano
David Kennedy, baritone
Susie Gibbons, soprano
Maria Matthews, soprano

“I have always been a firm believer in sharing anything I have learned with those comping behind me. I am delighted to be able to spend some time working with Ireland’s next generation of emerging singers. As we all begin to restart our lives following more then 18 months of silence, I look forward to introducing these young singers to the audience of the NCH and encouraging them in the same way I was always encouraged. Join us for a very special evening of Opera as our young singers make their National Concert Hall debuts.” Tara Erraught

Tara and Dearbhla Collins will work with the singers in workshop in advance of this special evening.

In this second concert on Wednesday 6th October will feature some of our most acclaimed singers. Sopranos Anna Devin, Mairead Buicke and Majella Cullagh will perform on the evening and will be joined by tenors Robin Tritchler and Gavan Ring, baritone Owen Gilhooly-Miles and bass John Molloy.
