She Shanties with the London Sea Shanty Collective

She Shanties with the London Sea Shanty Collective

Saturday, 9 November 2019, 7.00pm

She Shanties bring their all-female shanty singing to London this November.
To say that the She Shanties stand out as an all-female shanty group is to state the obvious, but their northern accents also stand out in a genre dominated by a certain Cornish shanty group. She Shanties, singing accompanied, have an unembellished and clean sound. Their less dramatic approach lets the lyrics stand centre stage and their subjects feel accessible. The songs are nurtured and emotionally loaded.

Supporting She Shanties at this show are:

The London Sea Shanty Collective

The London Sea Shanty Collective are a community choir based in Dalston and performing wherever the winds take them. They sing shanties and maritime songs old and new, ranging from South Australia to Newfoundland via the Outer Hebrides. Stamp your feet, clap your hands and sing your hearts out.
