The Farther Shore/Winter Flower - New Single from Flook

FLOOK TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘THE FARTHER SHORE/WINTER FLOWER’ FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM ‘SANJU’.

On December 21st, Winter Solstice, Flook will release the first single from their upcoming album Sanju on their independent record label, Flatfish Records, heralding a globetrotting 2025 to celebrate their 30th Anniversary. After 3 decades as one of the most iconic and influential bands on the UK and Irish folk scene - a live album and four celebrated studio albums, countless concerts at home and in far-flung corners, accolades, awards, and even a little downtime in 2008 to devote to family and the musical elsewhere - it would seem that Flook might just deserve to take it easy, enjoy the magnitude of their landmark moment. However, with the release of Sanju, 13 new original compositions over 5 extended tracks, a statement new shift in the production department with Stevie J Jones (Brian Eno, AIR, Imogen Heap) and John Calvert (Quincy Jones, Pete Tong, The Heritage Orchestra) at the helm, Flook intend to do anything but put their feet up!

What is obvious in this new release is the joy of a band making music together in the perpetual push to grow creatively, a fond acknowledgement of where they've come from while reaching outward and forward, their hunger for innovation burning brighter than ever. The Farther Shore/Winter Flower is the band's first single from Sanju, laden with imagery, from family lines and the sea between, to the deep bloom of love, gliding from water to snow, embodying the essence of transitioning, leaning boldly into new sonic light.

Winter Solstice The sun stands still - then comes the triumph of light returning, a new chapter in a glorious, lasting story
