He may be in his seventh decade but Rob Strong, as his name suggests, is still going strong! The Derry native with the sensational blues/soul voice, is is still on the road! From fronting The Plattermen to The Rockets, Rob actually turned down an offer to join Deep Purple! Not many Irish artists can claim to have continuously played LIVE for the last six decades! His son, Andrew Strong, became world famous as he starred as Deco, in the smash hit 1991 movie “The Commitments”. After touring Ireland's finest theatres last year with Don Baker to huge acclaim, Rob continues to perform with that same distinctive voice that saw him mesmerise audiences all those years ago!

“Rob Strong is unique. He is incredibly talented. In my opinion he is the best Blues or Soul singer to ever come out of Ireland. His innate gift is his voice and his timing is incredible. COLM WILKINSON

“Seeing Rob Strong with the Plattermen in the late 60s was big influence on me. To hear a fellow Northerner sing the soul music I loved so well, gave me a lot of confidence that one day I could find my own voice. Rob is one of the true originals!” PAUL BRADY
