Tectonics Glasgow 2023
Tectonics Glasgow returns in 2023 on 29 and 30 April, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a diverse lineup of global artists and musicians showcasing new orchestral music and contemporary artforms at the City Halls and Old Fruitmarket.
The festival's eclectic lineup includes international talents such as Colombia's Lucrecia Dalt, Japanese pianist Aki Takahashi, Germany's Limpe Fuchs, France's Jérôme Noetinger, and American pianist Cory Smythe. They will join Scottish and UK-based artists Inge Thomson & Calum McIntyre, Manchester cellist Semay Wu, and Glasgow's Lucy Duncombe and Feronia Wennborg.
The festival will also feature several BBC commissions and orchestral world premieres, including new works by Rufus Isabel Elliot, Linda Buckley, Scott McLaughlin, Ian Power, and William Dougherty. Additionally, it will pay tribute to the late Dutch composer Margriet Hoenderdos.
This year's Recital Room installation at Tectonics Glasgow will present Ryoko Akama's unique response to the space, part of her shimatsu series. Maayan Franco will also step up to the podium to conduct the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for the first of its two concerts.
Curated by Ilan Volkov and Alasdair Campbell, Tectonics Glasgow 2023 will offer a dynamic programme that builds on the festival's decade-long legacy of supporting innovative and risk-taking artists in music and art.
