The Choral Foundation of the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace, is launching 'Songstars', a children's singing programme that offers enhanced singing support to state primary school children in South West London who have limited access to music.

The singing programme will involve 10 weekly school visits per term (with 2 schools per term in the pilot year), initially focussed on the London Borough of Hounslow. In order to deliver this programme from September 2022, the Choral Foundation seeks to appoint a Vocal Animateur.

This is a key role within the programme and we are keen to hear from candidates who have an excellent singing voice, proven experience of directing and coaching children in choral practice, a track record of successful workshops and longer-term singing programmes in schools, and knowledge of diverse musical and choral styles.

The role is freelance and self-employed with an average of 0.5 days per week, plus CPD, planning time and concert delivery. Rates of pay are £125 (half day), £250 (full day), £350 concert directing, and £25 p/h planning time.
