Teach le Chéile
Gael Linn began broadcasting a series of live videos on their Facebook page every Thursday at 6pm. The series is called ‘Teach le Chéile’, where we will visit well-known singers, musicians and storytellers. The series began on the 7th May and to date we have been in Cúil Aodha with renowned musician, Peadar Ó Riada, in Mín an Iolair with acclaimed sean-nós singer Máire Ní Choilm, in Cork with the well-known storyteller, Pádraig Ó Brian, in Ranelagh with Na Casaidigh - Feargus and his two sons, Maitiú and Stiofán and in the Waterford Gaeltacht of An Rinn, with multi-instrumentalist Caoimhín Ó Fearghail.
On this week’s episode, we will be joined by Étáin and Máire Ní Churraoin from Ráth Chairn, County Meath. Hailing from a family of well-known musicians and sean-nós singers, the sisters’ great-uncle is the famous sean-nós singer Darach Ó Catháin. Both have performed in many competitions such as Oireachtas na Samhna, Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann and Féile na Mí. In 2019, they were crowned Ireland’s most talented family on TG4’s ‘Réalta agus Gaolta’. Étáin and Máire, also known as ‘An Chéad Ghlúin Eile’, can be seen performing on various platforms including Feadh TV, Féile na Gealaí and An Carbhán Craiceáilte.
Join us on Thursday 11th June, at 6pm, for the live broadcast of ‘Teach le Chéile’ with Étáin and Máire Ní Churraoin on the Gael Linn or Molscéal Facebook page. Keep an eye out for new episodes in the coming weeks.
