Lecturer in Sound for Media

The Reid School of Music at The University of Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sound for Media with research and teaching expertise in any area of sound and media-related practices or studies. These may range from game audio and screen sound to sonic art, audio vision, theatre sound or radio. We welcome applications from scholars or practitioners working across this field.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the delivery and development of our postgraduate programmes in sound and media, will contribute to teaching on our undergraduate programmes, and will engage in the supervision of doctoral students. They will have an excellent research profile in any area of sound/media music practices or sound studies, with the ability to produce exceptional scholarship and/or practice-led research and attract external funding. The appointee will also contribute to the administration of the subject area and the development of teaching and research across Edinburgh College of Art.

The post is available from 5 January 2021, it is full time 35 hours a week and open ended.
