A Tale of Two Opera Houses at East Cork Early Music Online

A Tale of Two Opera Houses at East Cork Early Music Online

Monday, 6 December 2021, 8.00pm

Filmed in the beautiful Methodist Church in historic Kinsale, Bridget Cunningham directs the Cork Baroque Orchestra in Kinsale with acclaimed singers, mezzo Sharon Carty and countertenor Francesco Giusti, singing the divas of rival 18th century opera houses. Exploring the careers of the legendary celebrity singers Senesino and Farinelli, the programme brings the 18th century Royal Academy of Music and the Opera of the Nobility to life. Including works by Handel, Hasse & Porpora, this tale also connects with the 4th Earl of Cork, Richard Boyle whose sponsorship supported many of the operas and singers involved.

The online concert is available on-demand until midnight on Sunday 12th December.

Our online tickets are available at a minimum of €5, however you are welcome to donate another amount, and we are hugely grateful for your support. We suggest a donation of €10 for this concert. East Cork Early Music is a registered charity.
