Igor Stravinsky - Three Movements from Petrushka

Perhaps best known for his music for the theatre, pianist and composer Conor Linehan will perform a concert of his own works as well as the premiere of Ronan Guilfoyle's exuberant Something for the Weekend. He will also perform Stravinsky's transcription of three movements from the ballet suite Petrushka, written for Artur Rubinstein and full of tremendous pianistic colour and challenges.
Conor's piece Roadshow was commissioned by Joanna MacGregor for her 2015 Irish tour, while Intermezzo was one of four pieces commissioned for the 2018 Dublin International Piano Competition. The 3 pieces for violin and piano were written while Conor was Dun Laoghaire Rathdown musician in residence for 2018 and reflect memories of growing up in the area.
