Summer nights at Westport Jazz with this wonderful trio of Matthew Berrill on clarinet and saxophone, James Kitchman on guitar and Simon Roth on drums, playing original compositions by all three members as well as versions of songs by Bob Dylan and The Beatles.
Expect a performance focused on spontaneity, creativity and melody!
Matthew is a multi-instrumentalist, hailing from the musical Berrill family of Headford, County Galway and an integral member of numerous ensembles in the jazz, improvised and traditional Irish music spheres, including Cuar, Irish Memory Orchestra and Ensemble Ériu,with whom he recorded three critically-acclaimed albums for Raelach Records, Ensemble Records and Diatribe Records.
He performs regularly alongside singers Iarla Ó Lionáird and Mick Flannery, as well as a host of jazz and folk musicians throughout Ireland.
His fellow players, Simon Roth on drums and guitar man James Kitchman are big on the London scene where they got it together and honed some fine composing and arrangements over the years.
This beautiful trio will bring some super good jazz!

'FuddleFest' in Wexford on Sunday 25th and Campbell's Tavern on Monday 26th and ending up with Westport Jazz 27th August.
