Head of Development and Philanthropy

Friday, 24 March 2023, 11.00am

The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) is seeking a Head of Development and Philanthropy to lead its voluntary and commercial income generation efforts, as the orchestra aims to extend its revenue base beyond statutory funding.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues, the Board, Advisory Council and Fundraising Committee to create and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, prioritising quick wins while ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations. This individual will develop and implement the EUYO’s Individual, Patron and Corporate Membership programmes, secure income from Corporate Giving, Individual Major Gifts, Individuals Giving (Membership & donations), and Trusts and Foundations, and manage budgets and financial reporting.

As the sole fundraising team member initially, the Head of Development and Philanthropy will have the opportunity to grow and develop a fundraising team as they expand the orchestra’s income. The role will suit a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual, who is comfortable developing strategy, making direct approaches, developing proposals, managing memberships, and writing grants and face-to-face asks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel internationally with the Orchestra and impact the lives of its beneficiaries while developing their fundraising skills across all 27 EU Member States. The EUYO is an exceptional orchestra with a highly talented and dynamic roster of musicians from all 27 EU Member States, recognised worldwide for the excellence of its music making and success in nurturing the careers of generations of young musicians.
