Cello Recital in the historic Victoria Line Carriage - Frantisek Brikcius

Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum & WALTHAM FOREST CELLO FEST 2019 ("London Borough of Culture meets Classical Music") invite you to the 4th UNDERGROUND LUNCHTIME RECITAL.

Cello recital will take place on Sunday 19th May 2019 @ 1:15 p.m., at the Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum (Victoria Line Carriage, 10 South Access Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 8AX).

Czech Cellist Frantisek Brikcius will perform 7 Ricercari per violoncello solo (1689) by Italian baroque composer Domenico Gabrielli (1659 - 1690), together with E17 premiere of "Stopy" for Solo Cello (2004) by Czech Composer and Organist Irena Kosikova and London premiere of "Granadios" for Solo Cello by American Jazz Cellist and Composer Fred Katz (1919 - 2013).

This concert commemorates the 360th anniversary of the birth of Italian baroque composer Domenico Gabrielli (1659 - 1690), the 330th anniversary of the publishing 7 Ricercari per violoncello solo (1689), together with the 100th anniversary of the birth of American Jazz Cellist and Composer Fred Katz (*25th February 1919, Brooklyn, New York City – †7th September 2013, Santa Monica, California).
